System Requirements

Installation

1. First install/upgrade the Spotfire Analytics Server to version 10.0
2. Install Spotfire DXP 2.0 Client
3. Finally deploy Spotfire DXP 2.0 on the Spotfire Analytics Server 10.0

Known Issues

General

• If an unrecoverable error occurs the recommendation is to click Continue, save the current analysis and restart the application.
• Large Fonts (120DPI) sometimes causes lower half of screen and the rightmost part of the screen to be outside the physical screen.
• Large analysis files sometimes can't be published to the library due to out of memory issues.

Installation, Administration and Login

• When installing on a 64 bit operating system the .NET framework must be pre-installed on the machine.
• If the .NET 2.0 framework is not installed it is always installed without prompting the end user.
• The automatic download mechanism will fail if a restricted user tries to install the application as an administrator by choosing “Run As Administrator”.
• Not more than one administrator should simultaneously upload deployments.
• It is not possible to connect to a server from a machine in another NT domain by using Run As when launching DXP.

Visualizations

• Hardware graphics acceleration may not work on older graphics cards or if the drivers are not up to date.
• Certain graphics cards and drivers leads to crashes, slow response times, blank visualizations, or missing shapes when DXP hardware acceleration is used. This is known to happen on Dell Dimension 9200 / NVidia 7900  Graphics driver: version 7.15.11.5824  but may happen on other system configurations too. Upgrading to the latest graphics driver may resolve these issues. If not, hardware accelaration can be turned off under  Tools > Options > Application.
• Using Identifier mapping for shape files in the map chart is not supported on 64-bit operating systems (Requires JET Driver not yet available on 64-bit windows).
• ESRI Shape Files may not be larger than 50 MB.

Calculations

• Filtering in the Data Relationships results table will prevent re-calculating the Data Relationships. If the filters are reset Data Relationships can be re-calculated again.
