See TIBCO Spotfire DecisionSite
System Requirements – v9.1.2 for a detailed description.
· .NET Framework
.NET Framework is
included in Spotfire DecisionSite Client install kit, but can also be installed
separately. Additional language packs should be installed separately. Microsoft
.NET Framework 2.0 or higher is recommended.
· Silent installation
To perform a silent installation, .NET
framework should be installed before DecisionSite™ Client.
· DecisionSite™ Builder
When uninstalling Spotfire DecisionSite
Client, references to locally registered folders may disappear. This is
corrected by re-registering the folders in Spotfire DecisionSite Builder.
· Spotfire DecisionSite MapConnect is integrated into ESRI® ArcMap™.
It is delivered via the Spotfire Analytics Server.
In order to install it, Spotfire DecisionSite must be launched once and
connected to the Spotfire Analytics Server.
After that, ESRI® ArcMap™ can be started and the
Spotfire DecisionSite MapConnect functionality will
be available.
· When starting ESRI® ArcMap™ for the first time after installing Spotfire
DecisionSite MapConnect, a toolbar containing the new
functionality will be floating around – something which also happens for some
of ArcMap’s own toolbars. Please, simply dock the
toolbar along the default toolbar, just as you would do with any other
free-floating toolbar popping up from ArcMap.
· Valid characters for the name of a
DecisionSite, eAnalytic Application, Tool etc., are:
[a-z] [A-Z] [0-9] [ !#$*-./=@^_`|~ ]
· Valid characters for user and group
names/passwords are: [a-z] [A-Z] [0-9] [ !#$*-./=@^_`|~ ]
· When filtering in Information Services,
Japanese numbers are treated as strings. For integer filtering use ASCII
numbers.
·
The client, Spotfire DecisionSite
Client, cannot be installed in a directory where the path contains Japanese
characters
· Japanese characters are not
supported in any of the authentication systems. When connecting to an existing
authentication system such as an NT Authentication domain, user IDs or
passwords cannot contain non-Latin characters.
· When installing Spotfire DecisionSite
Client on Japanese Windows 2000, English (US) locale is not supported. If the
client machine uses English (US) locale, switch to Japanese locale when
installing and then switch back.
· On Windows 7: to enable installation
of packages at machine level from Support Pages, launch Internet Explorer
"as Administrator".
· Data that contains dates from year
1600 and earlier will be displayed as empty strings.
· Connecting from Windows XP to Windows Vista
using Remote Desktop (running Spotfire DecisionSite Client on the Vista
machine) with 32-bit color depth is not recommended due to known issues with
display updates. Recommended workaround is to use 24-bit color depth or less.
· Installation can fail on Vista where
VBScript.dll is not properly registered. The symptom for this is:
"Error 2738. Could not access VBScript run time for custom action .",
This is caused by VBScript.dll being (partially) registered per user. This is
explicitly detected and prohibited by Windows Installer to avoid exploits based
on per user registered modules being used during installation. This
registration error has been observed on many, but not all Vista machines.
Solution:
1. Click on the Start menu, type "cmd" and
press enter
2. Run this command: reg delete
"HKCU\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}"
/f
3. For 64-bit windows also run this command: reg
delete "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}"
/f
Note: This operation does not require administrator privileges.
