Display 1024x768 pixel resolution, 16 bit high colors or greater.
DirectX 8.1 or higher and a compatible graphics card are recommended for optimal graphics performance.
TIBCO Spotfire Software Connection to a TIBCO Spotfire Analytics Server 10.1 for software deployment and licensing
Installation Permissions Administrator rights are not required to install TIBCO Spotfire
Microsoft .NET Framework TIBCO Spotfire requires that Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 be installed prior to installing TIBCO Spotfire.   Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0 does require Administrator rights to complete installation.

Importing SAS data files It is possible to import SAS data files (*.sas7bdat, *.sd2, *.sd7) into TIBCO Spotfire directly. The requirement for this functionality is that the SAS Providers for OLE DB 9.1.3 must first be installed on the client machine.

NOTE: Microsoft Windows Vista is not a supported platform for SAS Providers for OLE DB 9.1.3.
Citrix Deployment of TIBCO Spotfire is supported on:

Client: Citrix Presentation Server Client Packager - Version 9.150 or 9.200
Server: Citrix Presentation Server version 4.0

The following requirements are valid for all web browsers:
  • JavaScript must be enabled.

    In Internet Explorer, the setting can be changed by going to Tools > Options > Security tab and then clicking on the Custom Level button.

    In Firefox, the setting can be changed by going to Tools > Options > Content tab.

  • Session cookies must be allowed.

    In Internet Explorer, the setting can be changed by going to Tools > Options > Privacy tab and then clicking on the Advanced button.

    In Firefox, the setting can be changed by going to Tools > Options > Privacy tab > Cookies.

    NOTE: In addition, the Remember Me functionality will not work properly unless all cookies (session and regular persistent) are allowed.

RAM 4 GB or more recommended (2 GB minimum) for 64-bit Operating Systems, 2 GB or more recommended for 32-bit Operating Systems. Large datasets and/or many simultaneous users can require more RAM

1 GB required for cache (more for large servers using larger files)

Authentication Method One of the following:

  • Anonymous (preconfigured) Access

  • Forms Authentication

  • IIS Handled Authentication (Basic)

  • Windows Integrated Authentication
NOTE: The authentication methods chosen for the IIS and ASP.NET layers need to match, i.e. be compatible with the authentication method used for the TIBCO Spotfire Analytics Server.
Installation Privileges on Windows TIBCO Spotfire Web Player 2.1 must be installed under a Windows user account with full administrative privileges.
