·
General
o If an unrecoverable error occurs the recommendation is to click Continue, save the current analysis and restart the application.
o Clicking Quit in the dialog that is presented when an unrecoverable error occurs in the application results in another error being generated.
· Installation
o When installing on a 64 bit operating system the .NET Framework must be pre-installed on the machine.
o The automatic download mechanism will fail if a restricted user tries to install the application as an administrator by choosing “Run As Administrator”.
· Updating from version 1.0.1 with German Language Package deployed
o The 1.1 distribution will overwrite any Language Package deployed on the server. To get DXP 1.1 in a non-English version an updated Language Package for 1.1 needs to be deployed.
· DXP file compatibility
o A DXP file saved in Spotfire DXP 1.1 format can not be opened in earlier versions of Spotfire DXP.
· Administration
o More than one administrator should not attempt to simultaneously upload deployments.
o The following issues relate to the Excel OLE DB driver used when importing data :
§ It is not possible to import more than 255 columns from an MS Excel worksheet.
§ Date and Time columns are interpreted as DateTime. It is possible to manually change this when importing data.
o It is not possible to import data from Microsoft Access databases via the Microsoft.Net Framework Data Provider for OLE DB because it does not support the Microsoft OLE DB provider for ODBC Drivers (MSDASQL). The Microsoft.Net Framework Data Provider for ODBC should be used instead.
· Data Export
o Depending on the amount of memory available, copying a very large amount of data to the clipboard may cause an out of memory error.
o When copying data to the clipboard, the column order is not always preserved.
· Insert Data and Replace Data
o When a Replace Data operation results in a change in column data types (e.g., integer to real), some values may appear rounded compared to the values in the data file.
· Data Properties
o In some cases, copying data from visualization may cause the data formatting to change. It is possible to change the formatting from the Data Properties dialog.
o When inserting multiple columns with references to each other, the column order (e.g., in table visualizations) may not always be preserved when the analysis is saved and then re-opened.
· Filter Panel
o The Date picker uses the system locale formatting for dates rather than the formatter that is set for the column.
· Visualizations
o Hardware graphics acceleration is not supported on 64-bit operating systems.
o Hardware graphics acceleration sometimes crashes when using the parallel coordinate plot on Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller Driver version 6.14.10.3889 and on some related graphics controllers if the drivers are not up to date. Turn off hardware acceleration by un-checking the checkbox at the bottom of the Tools - > Options -> Application dialog box.
o Using Identifier mapping for shape files in the map chart is not supported on 64-bit operating systems (Requires JET Driver not yet available on 64-bit Windows).
o ESRI Shape Files may not be larger than 50 MB.
· Text Area
o A vertical scrollbar does not show up when shrinking the text area.
o The Insert Link button is disabled when no text has been entered in the Text Area Properties dialog.
o The last number/bullet does not follow the current formatting.
· Insert Calculated/Binned Column
o When binning by even intervals, an extra bin may be generated if the number of bins specified equals the number of rows in the data set.
· Line Similarity and K-means Clustering
o Trying to update Line Similarity or K-means Clustering result columns that have been deleted may cause an error.
o Any Line Similarity or K-means Clustering operations executed when opening an analysis with linked data (or when adding, deleting or replacing data) will be based on all rows in the new data set. Information about marked rows or filtered rows is not taken into account when re-executing the operations. It is possible to preserve the exact results of the calculations by freezing the result columns.
o As described in the on-line help, empty values in the data set can cause the Line Similarity and K-means Clustering operations to produce empty results. This typically happens when interpolation cannot be used to replace the empty values.
· Citrix clients
o When running Spotfire DXP from a Citrix client, the Library Administrator dialog may not behave as expected. It should be possible to resolve any issues by publishing a web browser on Citrix and then navigate to http://<servername>/spotfire/ and select Library Administrator.
· General
o When opening an analysis file with linked data referencing a prompted Information Link, some parts of the prompt dialog may not be refreshed correctly. It should be possible to refresh the dialog simply by moving the dialog on the screen.
· Elements and Joins
o It is not possible to save elements to the root domain.
· Information Links
o It is not possible to edit Information Links that contain an invalid join reference.
· Import and Export Information Model
o Trying to export an Information Model to a path that does not exist, e.g., an unknown or invalid drive may cause an error.
